Mari-Don kennels bred Roll part of the X-Pert bloodline in 1970's. Don Humes got his foundation dogs from Dr.Roll and Ormsby's. I already told about CH X-Pert Humes Topsy as well as about CH Humes Texas Jack, but there was another important bitch in the Mari-Don foundation, namely CH Roll's Chistera Pintada. This bitch was born on July 26, 1969, she was by CH Kerry Major Thor out of Josephine Anne.
In 1971 CH Roll's Chistera Pinatada was bred to CH Humes Texas Jack to produce famous CH Mari-Don Polly's Black Beau. I think Don Humes used Black Beau more than any other stud in his breeding program. Black Beau sired many famous dogs: INT CH Mari-Don Mr Beau Jangles CDX (foundation dog of Fraja kennels), CH Fraja Black Maria (foundation bitch of Fraja kennels), CH Beau Ringo UD, CH Mari-Don Kirkee Battery, Rex Blackheart Horsely, Williams' Sunny, etc. As I wrote on the previous page X-Pert Black Nellie was bred to CH Sooner's True Grit Of Rhody. I think it will be good to tell that CH Sooner's True Grit Of Rhody was sired by CH Beau Ringo UD, who was one of sons of Don Humes' CH Mari-Don Polly's Black Beau. So, here is pedigree of CH Beau Ringo.
Don Humes bred CH X-Pert Humes Topsy to CH Mari-Don Polly's Black Beau. They produced INT CH Mari-Don Mr Beau Jangles CDX, foundation dog of Jaсqueline Fraser's Fraja Kennels. Here is his pedigree.
In 1975 John McCarthy of Buffalo, NY bred his X-Pert Brindle Nellie to X-Pert Brindle Tiger. Ch.Sligo McCarthy, who was owned by Al Amisano, and Nellie II, that John decided to keep, were born there. Ch.Sligo McCarthy finished Ch. quickly and became well known for his numerous Ch's offspring. One more great example of the great combination of smarty head, lots of drive, excellent health and structure. Sligo was Top Producer for some years. Sligo was used in many combinations and produced many beautiful dogs.

In 1976 Barbara Hambleton bred her X-Pert Golden Faun to Westminster winner Ch.X-Pert Cherokee to produce Ch.X-Pert Captain Jingles, Barway Kennels' foundation male. Here is his pedigree.
Victor Castanada, who owned Westminster winner Ch.X-Pert Cherokee, bred Tacoma part of the X-Pert bloodline in 1970's. He bred tight on Black Susie. His breeding of 1975 of Satin Boots to Ch.X-Pert Cherokee produced Suregrip Valiant Boots and Blue Eagle Of Suregrip. Here is their pedigree.
Barway's foundation bitch was Ch.X-Pert Holly's Babe, whelped in 1977. She was from Kings Kennels breeding. She was granddaughter of Ch.X-Pert Cherokee. Here is her pedigree.
