There was very important breeding of X-Pert Black Jack II to X-Pert Satin Boots in 1977. It was inbreeding III-I on Satin Boots. The litter had a brindle colored boy, named Atila Of Suregrip. Well known dog White Devil's Killer SchH II was sired by Atila.  Now some of today's X-Pert staffs have strong influence of these dogs.

In 1978 John McCarthy bred his X-Pert Brindle Nellie's daughter, Nellie II to Ch.X-Pert Roman Grit. Ch.McCarthy's X-Pert Sai, McCarthy's X-Pert Little Mick, McCarthy's X-Pert Miggs were born there.

Victor Castanada bred Dixie Lilly Of Suregrip to Ch.X-Pert Cherokee in 1978 to produce Ch.Spikette Of Suregrip, who is in many of Barway's pedigrees now. 

Suregrip Valiant Boots was bred to X-Pert Brindle Rocky in Rhody's Amstaffs. Lynda Snably purchased Danao Tiny Dancer "Kayla" from that litter. Here are some words of Lynda about Kayla: "I know that at the time I bought Kayla they had Ch. Sooner's True Grit of Rhody (Buster) there with them. He was a beautiful black brindle dog with a great personality. It was his personality that convinced my husband and I to make the purchase. We moved to Virginia and I started showing her as an American Pitbull Terrier, believe it or not? She was triple registered AKC, ADBA and UKC. She won several firsts and took several group wins at the "Old Dominion Pitbull Club" that my husband and I helped start back in the 80's. On July 15, 1979 Our Gang Black Jet CD was born, she was by CH Beau Ringo UD out of  CH Countess Mahoghany Cocoa. This black-brindle bitch is very important for Paragon kennels breeding program. She was bred to CH Nugent's Sticky Of Our Gang CDX to produce Davis Desert Sage, sire of well known CH Roadhouse's El Toro Valiente and CH Roadhouse's Rex Royal. Both are very important for RU kennels breeding program. In Paragon kennels Our Gang Black Jet CD was bred to CH Paragon Lucre Of Chegra, who was sired by Rex Blackheart Horsely. In 1979 Ormsby's bred X-Pert Black Nellie to CH Sligo McCarthy. X-Pert Red Bulls Eye, CH X-Pert Scout Of Fraja CD and X-Pert Eve's Duchess were born there. Here is their pedigree.

Nancy & Edward Beers' foundation dog Ch.X-Pert Tiger's Bullion was born in March 25, 1980. He was son of X-Pert Brindle Tiger, and was tightly bred on X-Pert Black Nellie. Here is Bulli's pedigree.

In 1979 Rudy Charles bred Princess Of Kings to Ch X-Pert Captain Jingles. Ch Mydelles Ms Independence "Missy" was born there. She was owned by Leslie Nelinson. Missy won Best of Winners at Montgomery County Kennel Club, with her half-brother Ch. X-Pert Cap's Boss of Barway winning BOB against a massive entry.

Michael Nelinson "Missy had an amazing temperament, she was smart, gentle and kind. She was very athletic and could catch a fastball launched at her off a wall, which was her favorite game to play with her daughter CH. Mydelles Centerfold, Sandy. In 1980 Barbara Hambleton bred her pair, Ch.X-Pert Captain Jingles x Ch.X-Pert Holly's Babe. Litter had magnificent boy Ch.X-Pert Cap's Boss Of Barway. Boss had big success in show rings and became multi winning dog of Barway kennels. This combination was repeated and produced Ch.Barway's Harklith Mr. Moose, Ch.Barway's County Girl.

By the way, in the bottom of this Barway pedigree you can see Ch.Riko's Silent Shadow, that was sired by Ch.Brookhaven Black Jack. Dam of Brookhaven Black Jack was Duel-Run Agile Substitution, that was Sertoma breeding. Sertoma line was built on Tacoma x Gallant cross.
